World: what is connected, from where and for which period; what is not connected and why. Every published indicator keeps its source, period, territory, unit and transformation version. Dataset version: world-2026-10-19.

  Source not connected: protest and unrest event data (ACLED) require registration and a license. Peaceful protest is not in itself considered a risk.

  Source not connected: a register of public venues with verifiable links is needed. Everyday habits do not become a yes/no filter without a representative source.

What limits the data

• The observation year differs between countries; outdated values are flagged under the indicator's policy and not hidden.
• WGI indexes are aggregate perception scores, not measurements. Form of government, regime type, legal guarantees and survey indicators are separate indicators and are not connected yet.
• Countries with no value for an indicator are unknown for it: that is not zero.
